Robust biological processes – low maintenance
Since ACT® is based on natural processes it requires close to no maintenance and no supply of chemicals which saves you both time and money. Thanks to our unique sludge degrading system sludge removal is put to a minimum (approximately every 10th year).The microorganisms and plants adapt automatically to variation in wastewater load, meaning that no adjustments are needed once everything is installed.
All users, from small households to large facilities such as hotels, benefit from using ACT®. It can easily be upgraded to manage larger loads of sewage or tougher treatment requirements.
ACT® has an outstanding ability to take care of unwanted substances. Tests carried out by the Swedish Environmental Research Institute show that ACT® purifies the water from pharmaceutical residues better than average municipal wastewater treatment plants.

How does it work?
ACT® treats the wastewater in one to three steps depending on the circumstances at your property. In the first step, ProACT®, microorganisms are degrading the sludge. Thanks to special structures in the tank, there is a lot of surface for microorganisms to form biofilm (their home). The oxygen level in the tank is low. These factors combined result in degradation of the sludge which minimizes the need for sludge removal. Approximately one sludge removal every 10th year is needed.
From ProACT® the wastewater is pumped to InterACT® where it is exposed to other types of microorganisms and to natural aquatic plants whose root systems also make up a good environment for the microorganisms. The plants as well as the microorganisms feed on nutrients in the wastewater.
In some cases, an additional treatment step, ReACT®, is required to achieve extra reduction of phosphorus to prevent eutrophication. In ReACT® phosphorus is bound to a lime material. When the filter material is saturated with phosphorus it can be spread on farmland as a fertilizer.
ACT® is a very robust system requiring electricity only to power a water pump and an air pump. A micro-computer together with a static level meter in ensures stable operation and monitoring of the system.

How to acquire a waste water treatment plant
1: Treatment demands
The treatment demands are decided by the municipality and depend on the distance to sensitive water streams and what type of soil you have on your property. If you do not already know what demands apply to your property, we will provide you with that information.
2: Get permission
Before installing a new wastewater treatment plant you need permission from the authorities. We gladly assist you in filling out the application form.
3: Installation
We are happy to visit you in order to advice you regarding the best solution for your property (free of charge). ACT NaturalTM is easy to install and we can help you to find a contractor who can perform the installation.

Become a champion of biodiversity!
The Biodiversity Meadows Package includes herb plugs and seeds to create a Swedish summer meadow of ten to twenty square meters. The herb plugs make your meadow bloom already in the first summer. If you used only seeds, it could take up to three years before you reach that result. When you plant a meadow with herbs, grass and flowers that belong to the Swedish flora, you give our insects, small animals and birds the right conditions to live and reproduce. You become a champion of biodiversity and that usually feels very good.
Slow gardening
Creating a Swedish summer meadow is not for those in a hurry. However, it is something for you who want to see more of biological diversity and cultural landscape. If you thrive among butterflies and honey bees, if you admire herbs that have been hardened and adapted to the Swedish seasons over millennia, then our meadow package Biodiversity is something for you to take on. If you have an old scythe, it is great for your new meadow (although it works just as well with a modern grass trimmer).
Many meadow species germinate and grow slowly. In the first year, you may experience your meadow as sparse. The earliest species normally flower in the second year after sowing. Some varieties take up to 5 years before they flower. But we have not included them in this mix. Instead, you have the 120 plugs that are already in year two and will therefore flower already this summer.
